MDRX HPA nozzle swap
Optional HPA platform only. Disconnect air and battery, wear eye protection, and chronograph legally after work. Manufacturer recommendation: maximum 8 bar / 116 psi.
Manufacturer selection bands are detailed in the FAQ below. They are not guarantees: barrel length, BB weight and settings affect energy. Chronograph and comply with local law/field limits.
Official procedure
- Separate upper/lower and disconnect the air line (00:59–01:06).
- Remove ejection panels, rear guides/spring/pin, solenoid, then slide engine back (01:11–02:31).
- Open housings, remove cylinder head, then change nozzle (02:44–04:32). Lightly lubricate nozzle seals only; keep nozzle tip clean.
- Reassemble without pinching tubes, purge excess lubricant outside the receiver, then disconnect air and battery (04:47–08:27).
- Route cables carefully, refit panels/guides/pin and reconnect the air tube; do not lose the ball plunger (08:49–11:50).

Can pressure be used instead of nozzle selection?
No. Stay at or below 8 bar / 116 psi; select the appropriate nozzle and chrono.
Which flow options does Silverback list?
Silverback lists these HPA nozzle ranges: 1-hole / 20% airflow below 1 J; 2-hole / 40% from 1 to 1.4 J; 6-hole / full-flow above 1.4 J.
