MDRX Build & Buy

Choose the base platform first, then the exact subsystem. Product cards below use current Shopify handles; stock and price are live. Compatibility statements remain tied to generation, configuration and official part references.

1. Choose the base platform

AEG and HPA are different builds. Do not combine AEG ECU/motor/spring instructions with an HPA engine. Standard 16-inch and Micron also use different barrel and handguard groups.

2. Hop-up and accuracy path

First establish a sound seal and repeatable hop. The high nub adds 500 µm preload and is intended for BB heavier than 0.32 g; it is not automatically the correct choice for every energy/BB setup.

3. V3 gearbox and electrical service

Use MDR-9801 for V3 GB1 internals and the V3 ECU manual for programming/polarity. Legacy V1/V2 parts should not be substituted by name alone.

4. Spring and energy setup

Springs tune energy; they do not repair a poor hop or seal. A stronger spring can increase current draw and mechanical wear. Chronograph the finished replica with the BB used and obey site/local limits.

5. Magazines and 5.56 / 7.62

The V3 manual shows both configurations. A complete change requires the matching adapter/receiver arrangement and magazine catch; buying a magazine alone does not prove conversion compatibility.

6. Barrel, body and service tools

Match 16-inch or Micron groups in MDR-9802. Maximum torque is 3 Nm on barrel clamping screws and 2 Nm on handguard screws.

7. Optional HPA engine: piece by piece

Depressurize before service. Silverback recommends no more than 8 bar / 116 psi. Nozzle ranges are manufacturer selection bands, not guaranteed energy values: 1 hole below 1 J; 2 holes 1–1.4 J; full-flow/6 holes above 1.4 J. Always chronograph.

Factory dwell is 12 ms; optimize only after setting a compliant pressure/nozzle combination and verifying with a chronograph.

8. Exact-reference ordering rule

You have Consult Order only after
V1/V2 AEG MDR-0000 + older user manual Confirming the old reference and fitted layout.
V3 gun/body/barrel MDR-9802 Matching document page, assembly and reference.
V3 GB1 gearbox MDR-9801 Matching the precise GB1 reference and variant.
HPA engine MDR-9803 + FCU manuals Confirming nozzle/engine/FCU configuration and safe pressure scope.

Need a number? Use the searchable 248-reference manual appendix. Product availability does not prove cross-version fitment.
