MDRX AEG-to-HPA conversion
Optional HPA conversion, not stock AEG maintenance. Disconnect battery and air, wear eye protection, and comply with local regulations. The official conversion requires a 6.5 mm lower-receiver hole for the 6 mm tube.
Official procedure
- Disassemble the rifle, remove handguard/buttplate, separate receivers, and remove gearbox with Torx T20 (00:16–00:52).
- Unlock barrel and convert the hop-up. Ensure anti-double-feed feeder orientation; concave nub side faces the rubber (02:23–04:35).
- Install HPA engine/FCU. Use the longer engine fixing screws; protect PCB and route all cables through the receiver opening (04:53–08:27).
- Connect solenoid: pass wires through plastic elbow before terminals; black to − and red to + (08:54–09:55).
- Purge excess lubrication before upper-receiver assembly using an 11.1 V battery and 5–8 bar / 73–116 psi; then disconnect air and battery (10:25).
- Do not pinch cables. Drill lower hole to 6.5 mm for tube, verify gas-block/receiver rail alignment, and reassemble (11:39–16:35).

Which hop-up rubbers can be used?
The official video recommends SRS/T41 rubbers for best results but says any AEG rubber is accepted.
